What does "subject to viewing" mean?
Valuations issued from our website and telephone staff are subject to viewing the vehicle and should not be construed as a contract. The condition of your vehicle must be confirmed by a member of our valuation team prior to purchase. In some cases, this may mean that we can increase the offer we originally made, however in some circumstances, it may be necessary for us to reduce the valuation.
What do I need to do before and after collection?
You need to clear all personal contents from your vehicle and remove any tax disc that you might wish to claim back. You must then complete section 9 on your logbook (V5 Document) and send it to the DVLA. Failure to notify them could result in a fine. If you do not have the V5 then you must notify them in writing (Always recorded post). Our driver will help you with the form.
What if I have lost the keys to my car?
Just leave it to us – no keys, no problem.
What do I do with previous history for the car?
Any previous history can be left in the glove box or kept with the V5 document, or handover to driver who will come to collection vehicle.
Can I claim back my unused car tax?
Yes, you can visit the DVLA website and download a V14 document.
What do I do with the log book/v5 registration document for my scrapped car??
All you need to do is detach one small section of the log book, sign it and send it off to the DVLA (the address is on the back). If you need to ask any questions, you can ask our drivers who will be happy to help you. Or if you are not home when we collect your car, give us a call and we’ll provide you with all the information and advice you need.
How long does it take to remove my car?
Usually, it takes between 10 - 20 minutes to assess your car, load it onto our recovery vehicle, and complete documents. It may take longer depending on the location of your car and how difficult it is to remove.
Do you issue a (COD) Certificate of destruction?
Yes, this is your receipt that confirms your vehicle will be scrapped in a lawful and environmentally sound manner. We issue them on request once the vehicle has been de-registered.
